This website is operated by McCracken Meek Property Developments Ltd, trading as Goldfinch Property Investments ("we", "us", "our"). We are the data controller for personal data collected through this website.

This policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit this website or sign up to our newsletter, why we collect it, how we use it, and what rights you have over it. It applies to this website only and does not cover any third-party sites we link to.

What personal data we collect

We collect personal data in the following ways:

  • Newsletter sign-up. When you click through to our newsletter sign-up form, we collect your name and email address, which you provide directly. This form is hosted by our email marketing provider, MailerLite.

  • Contact and enquiries. If you contact us directly, for example by email, we collect whatever personal data you include, such as your name, email address and the content of your message.

  • Website usage data. Our website host, Squarespace, automatically collects some technical information about visitors, such as IP address and browser type, to operate and secure the site. See the Cookies section below for detail.

We do not knowingly collect special category data (such as health or financial information) through this website.

Where we rely on consent, such as for the newsletter, you can withdraw it at any time by unsubscribing using the link in any email we send, or by contacting us directly. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of anything we did before you withdrew it.

Who we share your data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it with the following categories of third party, each acting under contract as a data processor on our behalf:

  • MailerLite (mailerlite.com), which hosts our newsletter sign-up form and sends our newsletter emails, and stores subscriber data on our behalf. MailerLite's own privacy and cookie policies apply to their platform.

  • Squarespace, which hosts this website.

We may also disclose personal data where required by law, for example to a regulator or law enforcement body.

We do not transfer personal data outside the UK except where a service provider we use, such as MailerLite, processes data outside the UK. Where this happens, we rely on the provider's compliance with UK data protection law, including appropriate safeguards such as the UK's International Data Transfer Addendum or an adequacy decision.

Cookies and similar technologies

Our website uses cookies, which are small files stored on your device. Some are strictly necessary for the site to work, and do not require your consent. Others are used for analytics or similar purposes and require your consent before they are set, which you can give or decline using the cookie banner on our site.

When you sign up to our newsletter through the link on our site, you are taken to a page hosted by MailerLite, which may set its own cookies to identify your submission. That page is operated by MailerLite, and their use of cookies is governed by MailerLite's own Cookie Policy.

How long we keep your data

We keep newsletter subscriber data for as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we stop sending you emails and delete or anonymise your data within a reasonable period, except where we need to keep a record that you unsubscribed to comply with anti-spam law.

We keep records of direct enquiries for as long as needed to deal with the matter, and for a reasonable period afterwards in case of a follow-up query.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  2. Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you

  3. Have inaccurate data corrected

  4. Have your data deleted, in certain circumstances

  5. Restrict how we use your data, in certain circumstances

Children's data

This website and newsletter are aimed at adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
